United Kingdoms Biggest Football Stars - Part 2

And we are back with another part of the United Kingdoms biggest football starts. In the first part we talked about Sir Alex (Alex Ferguson) who was a player and now the famous coach of Manchester United. On top of that we also talked about David Beckham who is one of the world's most recognizable sports figures. Not only are these two individuals two of the United Kingdom's biggest stars but they are also two of sports biggest stars.

Now that we have talked about two of the most recognizable names in all of football we are going to talk about some others who have just as decorated careers in football. Below you will find 3 players who are all still playing that have more accomplishments than many of the biggest names in all of sports. Two of these players play under Sir Alex of Manchester United ( I bet you known who they are) and one plays on a rival team, Chelsea.

Frank Lampard - Frank Lampard is considered one of England's best footballers for his strong defense, his leadership on the field, his ability to score goals and his knowledge of the game. Frank plays midfield for Chelsea and started out his career in professional football playing for West Ham United. What many people don't know about Frank Lampard is that he has won Chelsea's Player of The Year 1 time and was runner up in 2005 for FIFA World Player of The Year. Another thing you probably don't know about Lampard is that he was the highest paid footballer in 2008 and is currently the highest goalscoring midfielder in the Premier League.

Wayne Rooney - Another one of Manchester United's stars, he has been with the club since 2004. Prior to that he trained with the youth Everton team since he was 10 years old and started in the senior division in 2002. Wayne Rooney is one of the all time leading strikers for Manchester United with an average of just under .5 goals per game. This is a huge accomplishment for such a young star. Since coming to Manchester United in the transfer window in 2004 he has helped them win 3 Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League once and 2 League Cups.

Ryan Giggs - This is the most decorated English footballer in the history of the game. At age 37 he is still playing strong and is still on the same team he began his senior career with, Manchester United. As a midfielder he has seen many chances to play for other clubs but as stayed with Manchester United and has racked up a staggering 600 appearances in the meantime. Ryan Giggs is the only footballer in history to collect 11 top division titles and has also been named to Football League 100 legends. If that wasn't enough of an honor he was also named to the Premier League Team of The Decade and was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame. Now if you ask me that is a very successful and long lasting football career.
