When you think about footballs biggest stars who do you think about? I bet you are thinking about at least 2 people that are playing on teams from the United Kingdom and that is how it should be. With the United Kingdom pumping out more talent than any other place in the world it is no wonder the level of play is so high and competitive.

There are many starts that are from the United Kingdom and some of the are Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, Bobby Robson, Matt Busby, Duncan Edwards, Robbie Fowler, Pat Jennings and many more. Even though these are only a handful of people who have been playing at the top of the football world they are not the best known and most coveted players. You will see in the short list below that I have included 5 people that make up the best of the United Kingdom.

Alex Ferguson - Most people know this many as Sir Alex and the name fits perfectly. This is the coach of Manchester United and has been since 1986. He has many coach of the year awards, many FA Cup titles, even more regular league wins, and has coached many stars of todays game. Some of the biggest names that Sir Alex has coached are David Beckham and Christiano Ronaldo. What most people don't know about Sir Alex is that he brought Christiano Ronaldo to Manchester United when he was still very young and game him his start. If you want to attribute the success of Christiano Ronaldo to anybody it would be to Alex Ferguson.

David Beckham - Now I know you don't need to be introduced to David Beckham but I will tell you a little about him that you probably didn't already know. David Beckham was one of the most searched spots figures on Google in both 2003 and 2004. He was also the worlds highest paid footballer in 2004 from franchise salaries and advertising earnings. The earnings that David Beckham is making are still very high but because of the success of some younger stars he is now not the highest paid footballer. David Beckham is married to one of the Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham and they have 3 children and are expecting a fourth. He has been runner up for FIFA World Player of The Year twice and is the all time leading international caps player for England. What most people know about David Beckham is that he was not much for scoring goals during play, he was the biggest threat when he was on the ball during a free kick and in penalties.

If you think we are done then you are wrong. There are still 3 more players that we need to cover in order for you to truly understand all the greatness coming out of the United Kingdom. If you think that there are more great players then the ones I am listing then you are right because there are about 70 great players that all deserve to be on this list but I want to stick to some key parts of the sport.
